The Court of Appeal ruled that a disappointed expectation of the future, as described above, is not in itself such a change of circumstances and the remaining by the woman to the point raised circumstances are not such exceptional circumstances that an extension of the fixed maintenance period under Article 1: 401lid2 BW is justified. The request by the man to squash the contested decision is approved. The woman is also ordered to repay the alimony overpaid by the man as of August 25, 2014.
